Rain, Rain and more cold weather? Is this ever going to end?
11 February 2010 by Shari.
So, you thought maybe it was time to prune back all the material that had suffered from the cold spell in January…..Good thing you didn’t! It looks like we are having more cold weather today and rain to boot! With the soaking we are getting and the temperatures that are frosty, it looks like everything is going to take a while to dry out but will be ok.
How does your garden look?

Most wonderful time of the year
30 October 2009 by Shari.
You know the song, “it’s the most wonderful time of the year”….I know that is really about Christmas and the holidays, but I think that time of year starts now. The weather is changing and it is actually nice to be outside. Here in TX we start to experience our version of Fall.
It is the time of year that hot cocoa is appropriate and the colors in the landscape are gorgeous. We may not see it to the degree they do in the colder climates, but there are still things to enjoy and cherish right here in our own backyard.
What do you like about this time of year?

Cooler Weather!
14 September 2009 by Shari.
Ok. So maybe not so much cooler, but at least we are getting rain. Someone told me that since we had such a dry hot summer, our September would be very rainy. They seem to be right, so far anyway.
It is nice to have somewhat cooler weather. With this weather, our fall vegetables should be taking hold. I still have okra going and am getting ready to put in some beans. I love fall gardening!
What are you growing in your fall garden?
